Coffee Fields

The coffee plants, fertilizer, and production processes contribute significantly to environmental sustainability. The coffee plants are grown in volcanic soils, which are naturally fertile and require fewer chemical inputs. The high altitude and cold winds stress the plants, enhancing their nutrient absorption and resulting in a richer, more flavorful coffee. This method of cultivation helps maintain the health of the soil and reduces the need for synthetic fertilizers.

Our farmers conduct thorough soil studies for each hectare, crafting custom fertilizers based on the results. This meticulous approach ensures a balanced cup and healthy trees, avoiding the over-exploitation of minerals already present in the soil. By tailoring the fertilization process to the specific requirements of each lot, we promote a sustainable and eco-friendly coffee production process.

The production process also includes innovative techniques like ozonification to ensure the coffee ferments exclusively with its natural components, avoiding external contaminants. This helps maintain the integrity of the coffee and reduces the environmental impact of the fermentation process.

Roasting Methods

The roasting methods used in coffee production can have significant environmental impacts. Traditional coffee roasting methods are energy-intensive and can produce substantial carbon emissions. However, the innovative techniques we are exploring with our coffee roasters are focus on minimizing these impacts. For example, the use of ozonification in the fermentation process ensures that the coffee ferments exclusively with its natural components, avoiding external contaminants. This helps maintain the integrity of the coffee and reduces the environmental impact of the fermentation process
